Tomorrow the full moon, today a temptation to be truthful to reveal the core of my own mythos.
A temptation to take off my masks and show you what is neither persona nor art but that thing propelling the art and demanding the persona.
Some thoughts I'm dabbling with at the moment-
The Mindscape - the meaning a twin with my intention
Another universe created when two minds connect, similar to the dreamscape in that fantastic settings can be found.
The mindscape is an isolated arena of two or more conciousnesses impressing their subconcious alterations into landscape. It often time takes two to make magic manifest.
A mindscape of one is possible but it can be considered daydreaming.
I'm also dealing with past present and future themes in a geoscape, psiscape.
Yesturday I met with a fellow journeyman, an artist and a mindscape came into being.
A forthcoming exhibition is to be born of this collaboration.
My sketches I shall add next week are called ' Fictional Memories'
PRELUDE INSPIRED ART FAIR 2008
PRELUDE INSPIRED ART FAIR , LONDON, 2008
The exhibition takes place from 24 - 27 July @ Spitalfields Market New Development Area, Market Street, Spitalfields, London E1
My paintings on show at Prelude are part of an ongoing series of work exploring various themes of duality.
Varied imagery depicting the concept of duality layer over each other. I also work the paint in textured layers. By bringing together these elements in this way, the imagery, paint and color, I hope to create a work of subtle complexity in both colour and meaning.
Fantasy and reality in a tug of war battle or combine in a complex dualistic relationship preside as central themes for this show.
Urban Alchemy, Acrylic on canvas, 92 x 92 cm narrates a visual tale of urban myth and dark realities of the city. Yet in contrast the intoxitating beauty of the city forms the bigger picture, with a lot of vibrant colour and movement that is the essence and pulse of the city. Semi Abstract in that meanings, relationships and existence become blurred when surrounded by the fast pace of the urban environment.~Yet the fast pace is also the energy and heart beat and attracts human attention with the force of a hurricane. The dualism of destruction and creation symbolises the urban environment for me.
